Bluesquare Data launches server platform

In response to the increasing demand for web and data hosting space by SMEs with restricted budgets, BlueSquare Data has launched the Virtual Server Platform via its PoundHost brand. The new virtual service enables 40-50 times more users to access server space without significantly increasing the hardware or power required. This represents a considerable cost-saving for SMEs in addition to providing a substantial boost to customers' own carbon reduction initiatives.
The Virtual Servers are based on the Microsoft Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V platform for Windows or Linux, and each one represents a complete system including processors, memory, network, storage and BIOS. These can be rebooted independently of the host and customers can access their Virtual Server remotely in the same way they would a dedicated server.
Customers sharing server space will benefit from the same level of service and capacity as if they were on a dedicated server but for a fraction of the price. Packages start from just £20.00 (plus VAT) offering a minimum of 2000GB bandwidth.
"As a smaller ISP, our business model benefits greatly from the cost-effective, high standard of service provided by BlueSquare Data," comments Matt Jones, technical director, Elite Technologies. "It means we can keep prices to our customers at a good value level without compromising our profit margins – crucial during these difficult economic times."
"The Virtual Server Platform helps us to give our customers the flexibility and pricing options to suit their individual needs whilst still delivering the same high level of support, security and peace of mind, that they would expect to receive with a dedicated server," explains Matthew Munson, group technical director, BlueSquare Data.
BlueSquare Data is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, which ensures that customers benefit from the most up-to-date advice and support.
